Opening of the first Qatar Visa Center in the Philippine

His Excellency Ali Bin Ibrahim Al -Malki, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of the Philippines, participated in the opening ceremony of the first Qatar Visa Center outside Qatar in the Philippine capital Manila on Wednesday, 25 September 2019.

The Ambassador cut the opening ribbon, together with Secretary/ Abdullah D. Mama- O, Adviser to the President of the Republic of the Philippines for overseas Filipino workers and Muslim affairs, in the presence of Major General / Abdullah Ali Al-Ali, Director of the Technical Office of the Minister of Interior, and Major/ Abdulla Khalifa Al-Mohanadi, Director of Visa Support Services Department, as well as other officials from the Qatar Ministry of Interior.

Ambassador Al-Malki delivered a welcoming speech during the ceremony, which dealt with this great and unprecedented achievement in the field of labor relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of the Philippines. He said the opening of Qatar Visa Center in Manila comes as a result of the state's policy of enhancing and strengthening relations with the Philippines, and closer brotherly ties between the peoples of the two friendly countries, indicating the role played by the Center in facilitating and accelerate the recruitment procedures for expatriate workers, in accordance with a system of transparency and responsibility, and ensures the rights of migrant workers.

The opening ceremony was attended by Hon. Francisco S. Tatad, former Secretary and Member of the Senate of the Philippines, Mr. Khalid Hassan, Director of the ILO Office in the Philippines, and Ms. Rachel E. Angeles, Chief- direct hire assistance division Philippines overseas and employment Administration, and other Philippine government officials, as well as representatives of a number of local media outlets.
