Qatar-Philippines Relations


Relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of the Philippines is characterized by convergence of views on many international issues, and are going in the right direction towards highest stages at all levels in common interests, which serves as the peoples of the two countries. The visit of His Highness, the Father, Amir/ Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa     Al-Thani to the Philippines on April 10, 2012, was a foundation stone for the consolidation of relations between the two countries that upgraded the relations to the highest levels. The importance of this visit serves in several ways, of which it constituted the beginning of a new era to promote Philippine-Qatari relations in various fields, in addition to that it was the first of its kind and the first visit by an Arab leader to the Philippines for more than three decades, which caused the visit to earn a high importance for opening prospects of promotion of Philippine-Arab relations, which received the attention of the Philippine leadership.

Qatar pays attention to Asia as a vital and important party in promoting regional and global economy, as well as an important party on the path of achieving global food security. The visit of His Highness, the Father, Amir, formed a wise move to look at the Asian window as an important and vital part of this world and had a strong impact on the global economic situation, so this Qatari wise step to enter the Asian arena came as a milestone in the work to strengthen global and regional economic security path.
