Advisories that must be observed by every Qatari visitor or resident to facilitate his/her trip or stay in the Philippines

  • Awareness and respect of the laws and regulations in force in the Republic of the Philippines.
  • Avoidance of traveling to the southern part of the Philippines (Mindanao Region), where terrorist groups are active.
  • Avoidance of communicating with strangers or people with suspicious behavior.
  • Sureness of carrying an international or local driving license in case of driving a car, and follow the traffic instructions.
  • Dealing with Philippines recruitment agencies licensed in the State of Qatar, as the Philippines law prohibits direct contacts with Filipinos workers, in order to avoid trade in person which preserves the rights of citizens in legal litigation in case of disputes.
  • Philippines’ laws prohibit the recruitment of any worker from the Philippines without a contract of work authenticated by the Philippine Embassy in Doha and an Official Employment Clearance (OEC) issued by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POAE).
  • In case of returning Filipino domestic helpers to their country in a visit, the validity of their employment contracts must be verified before leaving the state of Qatar. In case of the expiration of the employment contract, the sponsor must renew it and hand an original copy and the original Qatar identification card (QID) to their employee before leaving Qatar, to be registered at POAE in order to facilitate their returned to State of Qatar.
  • Philippine law strictly prohibits any foreigner to hold a passport of a Filipino citizen, and imposes a punishment of a long term imprisonment on charges of human trafficking.
  • Philippine law prohibits conducting personal interviews by illegal.
  • Philippine law criminalizes dealing with minors and consider that a first degree criminal offense.
  • The Philippine government launches a crackdown on drug traffickers and perpetrators of moral crimes, the Embassy warns of dealing with this categories, as the Philippine law does not tolerate criminals.

Advisories for Qatari nationals in systems and regulations of the Philippines Bureau of Immigration

  • Qatari nationals holders of passports (diplomatic, special / official and regular) do not need a visa to enter the Republic of the Philippines. The visitor entering for the purpose of tourism grant a tourist visa at the airport, its validity indicated at the entry stamp for a maximum period of 30 days, in case of the desire to extend the visa, the Philippines’ Bureau of Immigration must be contacted before expired.
  • Sureness of passports validity (diplomatic, special / official and regular) for a period of not less than six (6) months.
  • The visitor to the Philippines must have a Round- trip ticket to present to the Immigration’s Officer, if requested, as the lack of a return ticket exposes the visitor to detention or sent him/her back to the country where he/she came from.
  • Advance booking for hotels prior to arriving in the Republic of the Philippines is requested.
  • Adhered to the purpose of visit blogger on the entry form and visa is a must. In the event of the desire to change the type of visa, the Philippines competent authority must be contacted (the Philippines’ Bureau of Immigration).
