HE Ali Bin Ibrahim Al Malki, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of the Philippines, held a reception at Shangri-La Hotel in Makati, Manila, on the occasion of the National Day of the State of Qatar.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Leslie Baja, Assistant Secretary of Philippine Foreign Affairs Department for Middle East and African Affairs (guest of honor), Mr. Robert Eric Borje, Head of Protocol at the Philippine Presidential Palace (representing Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte), and Senator Aquilino Martin Pimentel III, member of the Philippine Senate, as well as former Secretary of Philippine Foreign Affairs, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, a number of heads and members of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited to the Philippines, officials of the Philippine Foreign Department and Filipino businessmen.
The program included the national anthem of the State of Qatar and the Republic of the Philippines played by the Orchestra of the Filipino Youth, a documentary film was also presented showing the history of the State of Qatar and its comperhensive renaissance in various fields.
On the sidelines of the ceremony, a mini-photo exhibition was held, which included photographs of Qatar's development renaissance, preparations for hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup and other public photos of Qatar, books about Qatar were also distributed to guests.
