His Excellency the Ambassador of the State of Qatar in Manila participates in the Presidential palace celebrations, on the 126th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of the Philippines

His Excellency Ahmed Saad Al Homidi, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of the Philippines, participated in the celebrations held by the Presidential Palace, on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, in Manila, on the 126th independence anniversary of the Philippines.

 

This year's celebrations included a flag-raising, wreath-laying ceremony, civil and military parades at Rizal Park in Manila, in addition to a reception held at the Presidential Palace for Heads and of the Diplomatic Missions and International Organizations, hosted by His Excellency President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., President of the Philippines, and First Lady Mrs. Louise Araneta Marcos.

 

President Marcos delivered a speech on this occasion, in which he emphasized the vision of true freedom through Filipinos who fight their daily struggles. He said that independence was inspired by the struggles of ordinary citizens who overcome challenges through their courage and strength. He also stressed that he stands with the Filipinos in Commemoration of the Declaration of Independence of the Philippines. He praised the strong sense of nationalism of Filipinos and their determination to unite in protecting the freedom that their ancestors fought for. President Marcos also urged Filipinos to be dedicated in aspiring to a “New Philippines” where they could have a brighter future.

 

President Marcos called for the full potential of Filipinos to be realized in a country that truly embodies the ideals of a just, progressive, and independent republic.
