The Embassy of the State of Qatar in Manila held in 11 December 2017 a reception on the occasion of the National Day of the State of Qatar, attended by a large number of participants from various categories, including Government Officials, Parliamentarians, Representatives of Diplomatic Missions accredited to the Philippines, and representatives of Government Agencies and Business Institutions, in addition to local media agents.

Of the most prominent attendances, Ma. Hjayceelyn Quintana, Assistant Secretary to the Department of Foreign Affairs on Middle East & African Affairs, Atty. Salvador Panilo, Presidential Advisor on Legal Affairs,  representing President Rodrigo Duterte. In addition to Secretary. Delfin Loranzana, Secretary of National Defense, Fr. Gabriele Giordano Caccia, Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines and Dean of the Diplomatic corps, Madame. Maria Laarni Lopez Cayetano,Wife of the Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines and Mayor of the City of Taguig, and  Ms. Charito Plaza, Director General of Philippines Economic Zone Authority.
